Curiously, one of the favorite places in Ibiza, both for Ibizans and tourists, is outside of Ibiza: the islet of Es Vedrà . This huge rock pyramid is located in the southwest of the island in front of Cala d’Hort, in the municipality of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia. Due to its high ecological value, it has been protected as a nature reserve since 2002 in the Parc de Cala d’Hort i Es Vedrà , formed by the islets of Es Vedrà , Es Vedranell and Es Illots de Ponent .
Its unique shape and colossal size of 382 meters above the sea make Es Vedrà easily visible and recognizable from many points in Ibiza, Formentera and even from the Iberian Peninsula. In recent decades, dozens of myths and legends have been written about an islet “with magical energy-accumulating properties.”
